Japan Ratifies the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction

On January 24, 2014, Japan signed and ratified the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.  This will make it easier for parents in the United States to be reunited with their children in the event that a child is abducted to Japan.

If your child has been abducted, or you suspect that the other parent is contemplating abducting your child to a foreign country, you should contact an attorney immediately.
