William L. Waller

William Waller is an associate attorney at Maddox & Gerock.  Prior to joining the firm, William was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Virginia in Newport News.  While clerking, William worked predominately on family law matters, particularly cases concerning divorce, custody, child and spousal support, and equitable distribution.  Recognizing the emotional difficulties and personal stakes implicated in all family law cases, William is committed to working zealously for his clients as they navigate through life’s most challenging transitions.

William obtained his Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School and is licensed to practice law in Virginia.  During law school, William served as the Editor-in-Chief of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal, a Teaching Assistant for the 1L Legal Practice Program, and a General Board Member of the Public Service Fund.  He also completed internships with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia.  He was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for receiving the highest grade in Legal Practice I as well as a Dean’s Certificate at graduation for outstanding service and contributions to the law school community.

William received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 2011, earning a double major in Foreign Affairs and Sociology.  He subsequently worked in the philanthropic non-profit sector for several years before returning to law school to pursue his lifelong career goal of becoming a family law lawyer.

Born and raised in Arlington, William is proud to advocate for and represent clients from his hometown and the greater Northern Virginia region.  In his free time, William enjoys traveling, going to the movies, and swimming.  He also loves spending quality time with his three-year-old niece Sofia.
